2. Klip 8 bredde strimler på ca. 25 cm bredde og sy dem sammen to og to, så du ender med at have 4 lange rør.
3. Tag to rør og kryds dem over hinanden, så de får en draperet effekt. Gør det samme med de næste to.
I had some leftover fabric from the DIY claret colored dress, so I decided to have a go at a skirt like the ones from Burberry Prorsum SS10. It’s not that hard – it just requires some patience.
1. Use a high-wasted bodycon skirt as a pattern. Leave 1cm for the seam as you cut.
2. Cut out 8 wide pieces – they should be approx 25cm wide. Sew them together in pairs so you’ll end up with 4 long tubes.
3. Cross two tubes to achieve a draped effect. Repeat with the remaining two.
4. Pin everything down all the way around then take the back of the skirt and attach it to the front piece.
Voilà! I think it looks better IRL – I’m just regretting that I didn’t do it in a creme color instead.

This is amazing.
Going to try that tomorrow.
First I wanted to make something like Balenciaga draped skirt but it’s probably too hard so that DIY is perfect!

Hi I love this DIY you’ve managed to pull off.
I’m a little bit confused about part 4. Do you sew the four flaps to the back? If so where? I’m dying to make this skirt.. does anybody know how?

heihei!
Ellen | 2010.01.14 | 14:45
Hej Stephanie!

Hi there,
you did this one very nice. Thank you for sharing
I just found your tutorial on my daily “tour” through my favourite blogs and I think I will do it. It sounds quite easy but I think it’s a little more difficult. I hope I can do it as well as you did. What kind of fabric did you use? Was it more a strong one or more strechy?
Oh, and it does look soooooo much better than the burberry-styled-draped-skirt that H&M had in stores this month.
Thanks again!

I think you have to close the front piece (with the tubes pinned on) and the back piece right side on right side so the tubes will be held in the side seam.
definitely nice DIY idea and so easy to do!
merci

I’m with the other commenters, what do you do with the rest of the tubes and what does the back look like? Is it same as the front or just plain? Do you sew it with the tubes on the inside and then flip it open?
Thanks!
Trine | 2010.03.10 | 19:58
